Lanco TF 1725 and TF 1725 EF are effective additives for
increasing abrasion resistance and slip. The combination of
PTFE and polyethylene wax does not tend to agglomeration
and is thus very easily dispersible.
The following properties are displayed:
· Very good surface smoothness through combination of pure
PTFE and hard polyethylene wax
· High scratch resistance and hardness
· Good m e t almarking resistance through reduction of coefficient
of friction
· Good mar resistance
Lanco TF 1725 EF is the finer grade, for use in thin film
systems.
Lanco TF 1725 and TF 1725 EF are very easily dispersible.
They can be incorporated using normal stirrers. In very low
viscosity systems high shear mixers such as dissolvers or bead
mills may be required.
Addition levels
Typical properties
For improvement of surface properties such as slip and scratch
resistance, addition rates of 0.05 2.0 % Lanco TF 1725 or TF
1725 EF are recommended, based on total formulation.
If addition rates of over 2% are used in coatings where repair
or overprinting are necessary, intercoat adhesion should be
checked.
